Cake Deco#2 Boppity Boo Bop

Session 2

April 20 (Sat) 9 am – 12 noon

Cake Decorating Fun: #2  Boppity Boo Bop

This is a fun technique called ‘Buttercream Transfer”. You can use a coloring book page and transfer it onto your

cake. It’s tricky, but you can do it. Evelyn Carter, of Evy’s Creative Cakes, will teach you how.

COST: $35

DATE: April 18 (Sat) 2 - 2 1/2 hours (depending on class size)

This class is for ages 13 and up.

Class size is limited so register early.

 REQUIREMENTS:

Bring 1, 9 X 13 inch cake, baked and cooled.

Bring a plate or board to put your cake on, unless you want to decorate it in the pan.

(Instructions on how to remove from pan are at the bottom, under ‘HINTS’.)

Bring 1 Wilton cake decorating kit - found online, at any hobby store, or Walmart. (UNLESS YOU ALREADY HAVE

BAGS & TIPS, IT IS BEST TO BUT THE WILTON KIT, WHICH CONTAINS BAGS, TIPS, COUPLERS, COLORS

& INSTRUCTIONS.  FOREIGN TIPS ARE CHEAP AND NOT RECOMMENDED.)

Bring a small off-set metal spatula (ABOUT 8 inches long & has a bend in it. It is not flat.)

Cake colors (paste) for your choice of design. (Comes in Wilton kit.)

A coloring page picture to transfer (make it simple with not much detail.)

PROVIDED:

White icing to color

Wax paper for transfers

Instructions, tips and tricks

A little fun and humor

HINTS: To successfully remove cake from pans, when cakes are finished baking, remove from oven to cooling

racks and cool on racks for about 8 minutes. Do not allow cakes to cool in pans for more than 10 minutes

or they may tear taking them out. Gently shake pans to loosen edges and invert cake into your hand.

Then gently turn cake back over onto rack, flat side down and continue to let cool. When completely cool,

cover with plastic wrap. You can return wrapped cake to cleaned pan to cover.

If you bring your own tools, please have them marked. A cooled

cake (in fridge) makes them easier to handle, but that is after it is out of the pan.
